Ad Concepts

Pause Ads

These ads are meant to take advantage of the pause state on your TV, while watching content. This is a subtle way to capitalize on time and large screen real estate, where you can display high quality brand assets, while not disturbing the users viewing experience.

These ads were created as a POC to pitch to potential clients , and were created using the You.i’s propriety engine. Future plans included adding innovative Call to Actions (CTA) to make interacting with the ads a fun and engaging experience.

Process

Research

I started with market research on existing 10 ft ad’s and quickly realized this area has not been as explored as much as it’s mobile and web counterparts. The purpose of these ad’s were to draw attention and engage the customers with ease.
We realized, rewards are the best kind of incentives for users to interact. May it be free goodies, discounts or information. To capitalize on this concept, I planned for the ad’s to be interactive than simple display.

WIreframes

I started with wireframes for different placement and interactive concepts for the ads in Sketch. The idea was to maximize use of the real estate and promote rich graphics to reinstate the brands.

Designs

Once we had decided on the direction we wanted to move forward, I created sample visuals for a couple of different brands.

Development and Demo

I paired up with a developer, and a few select designs were implemented in code after a few iterations. The project was developed using React Native and the design production work was done in Photoshop, sketch and After Effects. This concept was deployed on Roku and Apple TV during client demos.

This particular ad was developed as a 3 tire approach, each tire corresponding to a certain budge that the client could commit. Here is a snippet of the ads using a pseudo brand.

Lower Third ads

Experimenting with lower third interactive ad concepts . The ad seeks to grab the users attention by the peeking animations so as to not disturb the viewing experience, but at the same time, if interested, the user can click on the prompt to reveal the complete ad.
